As we navigate this intense eclipse season, which began with the Full Moon and Lunar Eclipse in September, we now find ourselves in the depths of the New Moon Solar Eclipse. Eclipses activate the Nodes of Fate—the South Node, which I like to associate with Karma, and the North Node, representing our Dharma or higher path. This eclipse is particularly potent, as it marks the last set of eclipses along the Aries/Libra axis, focused on relationships.
But this New Moon in Libra isn’t your typical harmonious, new-beginnings type of moon. It’s conjunct Black Moon Lilith and Kali, with a deep activation of the South Node. This is a profound invitation to dive into shadow work and revisit karmic contracts that are ready to be completed.
Tonight, I’m gathering with a group of women to delve into these powerful energies and explore the archetypes of the Dark Goddesses that are stirred by this eclipse. The Dark Goddesses—like Lilith and Kali—represent aspects of ourselves we often suppress or fear. Lilith embodies the parts of us that have been repressed, while Kali is known as a fierce ego-slayer, bringing transformation through destruction. Working with these energies is an opportunity to bring them to the surface and, in the words of Carl Jung, “One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious.”
If you’re curious to explore these darker aspects of your essence, I offer you a small ritual to practice during this New Moon or in the days that follow:
New Moon Ritual- Connect and Journey into the Dark Goddesses through Eclipse Shadow Work:
Clear Your Energy: Begin by showering or bathing to cleanse away the energy of the day.
Create Your Sacred Space: Set up a space for your practice in whatever way resonates with you. This could be through smudging, casting a circle, or simply calling in the directions.
Movement: Open your energy body with movement. This could be dancing, yoga, or intuitive movement—whatever allows your body to flow.
Invite Sound: Start with a simple sigh, hum, or AOM. Feel the vibration move through your body and notice any areas of tightness or resistance. Allow the sound to spread into these spaces, creating a sense of spaciousness.
Visualize the Dark Goddess: Bring to mind an image of the Dark Goddess or simply think of her essence. What does Lilith, the wild and suppressed part of yourself, or Kali, the destroyer of ego, awaken in you? Move and sound out these feelings in an exploratory way, letting go of inhibition. If you feel resistance, ask yourself, "What am I holding back?"
This practice is just a starting point. If you feel called to go deeper or want guidance, I’m happy to hold space for a private ritual via an online session.
When you finish, check in with your physical, mental, and emotional bodies to notice any shifts. Then, close your space, honoring the Dark Goddess, and take another shower or bath to release anything that came up.
I hope this practice resonates with you in some way. It’s a gentle introduction to shadow work, and if you have questions or feel drawn to explore further, feel free to reach out. I’m also offering personal chart readings to see where Black Moon Lilith sits in your birth chart and how these eclipses are impacting your Nodes of Fate.
Love and Blessings, Alesha
